Hi, I'm Ethan Martens.
Welcome to my portfolio website.
I’m Ethan, a graphic designer focused on creating clean, engaging visuals across both print and digital platforms. My primary strength is in Adobe InDesign, supported by experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom, along with motion and video work in After Effects and Premiere Pro. I also have a foundation in HTML and CSS, building and editing projects in Visual Studio Code. I’m especially interested in opportunities within marketing, social media content creation, and video editing—areas where I can combine design, storytelling, and strategy to create content that captures attention and drives results. I enjoy working across multiple formats, from branding and layout design to short-form video and digital content. I’m open to freelance work, including branding and logo design, and I’m always looking for new opportunities to grow, collaborate, and bring creative ideas to life. Outside of design, you’ll find me outdoors, playing basketball, following dirt track racing, or reading.

This project is a Porsche branding guide created in Adobe InDesign. I was given a selection of companies to choose from and selected Porsche due to my passion for cars and appreciation for their distinctive color palette. I designed the guide as a compact, calendar-style flipbook, incorporating high-quality imagery while maintaining consistency with Porsche’s established brand identity. The final design stays true to the brand’s visual aesthetic while presenting the information in a unique and engaging format.
I created this “Donut Give Up” inspirational poster using Adobe Illustrator. The design features a playful, lighthearted concept with a cheesy caption intended to make viewers smile while delivering a positive and encouraging message. I chose the colors based on my favorite cake donut I used to get from a local bakery.
This is a movie poster I designed in Adobe Photoshop based on a parody film title, Ping Pong, inspired by King Kong. I was given full creative freedom for the concept, so I incorporated ping pong paddles and a jungle setting as a playful homage to the original film. I enhanced the title with a glow effect to make it stand out and included family names as the cast and crew for a humorous touch.
I designed and developed the Sprinkles Ice Cream website using Visual Studio Code. I customized the project by applying my own HTML & CSS and making structural and visual adjustments. I started with creating my design using Figma. I aimed for a vibrant, colorful aesthetic paired with crisp, high-quality imagery to create an engaging user experience.

Sit, Stay, Smile is a photo gallery project centered around my love for dogs. As someone who regularly spends time with many dogs through family and personal connections, I wanted to create a collection that highlights each dog’s unique personality. My goal was to capture authentic moments that reflect their character, energy, and charm. Each image was edited in Adobe Lightroom to enhance color, clarity, and overall presentation. The final gallery was curated and published using Pixieset.

This project is a promotional program video created for the Graphic and Web Design program at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. This video was produced using footage captured on an iPhone and audio recorded with an external microphone, then edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. The final piece features A-roll footage of three first-year students, three second-year students, and both program instructors. The goal of this video is to showcase and promote the program by highlighting student experiences and instructor insight.

This is a T-shirt design for Southwest Wisconsin Technical College that I created in Adobe Illustrator during my first semester. I aimed for a classic collegiate aesthetic, incorporating the college’s establishment year and a building icon to reinforce the school identity. For the typography, I selected the Kegger Collegiate font to create a classic college feel to the design.
This is my travel ad series for Athens, Greece. I designed these in Adobe InDesign and created six different sizes: a full page, a half page, an Instagram post, a second Instagram post with a slightly different design, and a web banner. This project was inspired by my Athens, Greece travel magazine.
